Mizzou hoops lands commitment from UMass transfer

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou basketball team landed a commitment from former UMass forward Ronnie DeGray III on Wednesday night. The 6'7" forward announced his plans to transfer to MU on social media.

DeGray played 15 games for the Minutemen during his freshman season. The Parker, Colorado native averaged 8.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.

The former three-star prospect had eight scholarship offers coming out of high school, including one from Mizzou. That's according to his Rivals page.

DeGray had a career-high 21 points in UMass's overtime win over Rhode Island on Jan. 18.

MU has not officially announced DeGray joining the team just yet, but the team did tweet out its usual bat single. Head coach Cuonzo Martin will have one scholarship left to give out once DeGray officially signs with Mizzou.

Also on Wednesday - former Mizzou guard Drew Buggs committed to play for Winthrop. He announced his decision on social media.
