Police investigate Sunday night robbery in south Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police officers are investigating a robbery reported late Sunday night.

A release from the police department said officers responded to the 5100 block of Commerical Drive around 10 p.m.

It's at least the fourth robbery reported in Columbia over the weekend, police said. Two robberies were reported at area gas stations, one late Saturday night and another early Sunday morning.

Police arrested Terrance D. Reid suspected of a robbery in downtown Columbia on Saturday night. Officers had to break up a fight between Reid and another man when they arrived.

The robbery victim told police that he was checking his mail when an armed man pulled out a gun and demanded money. The victim allegedly handed over his wallet

Police say no injuries were reported in the robbery.

Reid is charged with second-degree attempted robbery and resisting arrest.

Reid's bond is set at $50,000 cash/surety.

Reid has a docket hearing scheduled for April 27 and a preliminary hearing set for May 20.
