SUNDAY UPDATES: COVID-19 7 day positivity rates continues to slowly grow

The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 279 news cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, bringing the total to 490,927 since the start of the pandemic.
No new deaths were reported on sunday, keeping the number at 8,504 deaths throughout the Show Me State. The part of the state's COVID-19 dashboard monitoring deaths has been down since Saturday, making some graphics and some metrics unavailable.
Missouri's positivity rates continues to slowly climb. On Sunday, the 7 day rate hit 4.5%, just one point higher than Saturday.
More people were also reported in the hospital due to the virus on Sunday. 775 people are currently in the hospital. That is 12 more than was reported Saturday. 117 are in the ICU and 86 are on ventilators.
As the state continue to fight COVID-19, nearly 28% of the population has received at least one shot of the vaccine. That equals 1,709,982 people in Missouri have started the vaccine process.
Of those, 1,053,940 people have completed vaccination. That is about 17.2% of the population.
Across the state, 2,703,098 doses of the vaccine have been put into the arms of Missourians.
