Phase 2 activates Monday; those ‘essential for economic recovery’ now eligible for vaccine
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Nearly 900,000 additional Missourians become eligible for the coronavirus vaccine Monday.
According to the state, the activation of Phase 2 on Monday and Phase 3 on April 9 ensures there is a consistent number of people who are eligible and interested in receiving the vaccine.
This comes as Missouri is expected to receive an influx of vaccine doses by the first week of April.
Those becoming eligible for the vaccine under Phase 2 include:
- Commercial Facilities Sector
- Critical Manufacturing
- Construction Sector
- Defense Industrial Base
- Financial Services
- Food and Agriculture Sector 2 (includes restaurant employees)
- Government
- Disproportionately Affected Populations
- Homeless

According to the state's coronavirus vaccine dashboard, 2,323,916 total doses have been administered in Missouri.
In total, 866,599 Missourians have completed vaccination and 24.4% of the population in Missouri has initiated vaccination.
