No. 18 Mizzou softball loses series finale to No. 24 Auburn

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The No. 18 Mizzou softball team lost the series finale against No. 24 Auburn on Sunday afternoon. The Tigers went down 3-0.

Despite the loss, Mizzou still won its first SEC series of the season.

It was a scoreless game up until the 6th inning. Auburn was able to score three runs - all with two outs. MU was unable to mount a comeback in the final two innings.

This was just the second time all season Mizzou has been shut-out. The last time MU was shut-out in an SEC game was May 8, 2019 - also a 3-0 loss to Auburn.

MU is now 24-7 overall and 3-3 in the SEC. Up next - the Tigers will play at SLU on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
