Two arrested for tampering with evidence and abandoning a corpse in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people were arrested in Boone County after allegedly tampering with evidence and abandoning a corpse.

Boone County Deputies arrested Jamie Lee Chick, age 36 of Columbia, Missouri, and Blake Ashley Williford, age 30 of Centralia on Saturday.

On March 7th, Boone County deputies were sent to the 5700 block of East Mount Zion Church Road to investigate a residential burglary alarm. Deputies attempted to contact the resident. Chick answered the call, who said something was wrong with the resident and he believed the resident was dead.

The body of the resident was found, who deputies say likely died 1 or 2 hours before they arrived.

Surveillance footage from the resident's home show Chick and Williford ingesting narcotics and alcohol the night before. The video shows the two going through the deceased resident's pockets and attempting to remove traces of drugs from the home.

Deputies say the video shows neither Williford or Chick made any visible effort to provide medical assistance to the resident, call for emergency medical services to assist the resident, or make a report to law enforcement.

While deputies say they believe the two were fleeing the scene, it's believed they tripped the burglary alarm.
