Columbia Police shut down part of Leslie Lane for shots heard investigation
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Police have shut down a section of central Columbia street for shots heard investigation around 3 p.m.
Boone County Joint Communication sent out an alert about the closure of Leslie Lane between Providence and North Garth Avenue.
Police on the scene told ABC17 News they responded to the call this afternoon and found shell casings, but believe it was from another incident overnight.
Police say someone was was hammering in the area, which caused residents to call police about potential gunshots.
It's unclear if there was any damage or injuries. It is also unknown if any arrests have been made.
ABC17 News crews saw two CPD cars on the scene. Police left the scene around 4 p.m.
