Slater woman charged with abandoning a corpse
SLATER, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Slater woman is accused of abandoning a corpse after a body was found over a month since the person was last seen.
According to a probable cause statement, Deseray Heyer is accused of the crime after a woman's body was found last Wednesday at 242 East Emma Street in Slater.
Heyer told Slater police that there was a dead person in the resident. The body was reported missing on Jan. 30 of this year.
During the investigation, police report that the body had been moved to it final location in the northeast room.
During an interview with Slater Police, Heyer admited to pushing/shoving the victim on Dec. 31 causing the victim to hit her head/back/neck area according to court documents.
Heyer allegedly told someone on Dec. 31 what happened but said the other person did not believe her.
On Feb. 3, Heyer and the other person when to check on the victim and found the body again and that is when they reported the body to Slater police according to court documents.
Heyer has a $50,000 cash only bond.
Heyer's next court date is Wednesday.
