City of Columbia extends temporary overnight warming center
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The City of Columbia opened a temporary warming center at Wabash Bus Station downtown due to extremely cold temperatures through the weekend.
That warming center will now be open through Monday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
In a press release, the city said it would continue to track temperatures to decide if further extensions will be needed.
The press release also included a list of other shelters in Columbia.
Columbia's warming centers include:
- ARC (Activity and Recreation Center), 1701 W. Ash St.
- Boone County Government Center, 801 E. Walnut St.
- Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley St.
