Mizzou guard named SEC player of the week

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou guard Dru Smith is the SEC player of the week following his strong performances against South Carolina and No. 6 Tennessee.

Smith averaged 17 points per game last week, and he shot 50% from the field. This is his second SEC player of the week honor this season.

Also on Monday - Mizzou moved up to No. 12 in the latest AP poll. That's seven spots up from last week.

The Tigers are back in action on Tuesday night against Auburn. Tipoff is at 8 p.m. We spoke with assistant basketball coach Chris Hollender to preview the matchup. You can hear his thoughts in the video players below.
