Second person dies from injuries sustained from Iberia house fire
IBERIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
UPDATE: Patricia Hendee has died from her injuries from the Thrusday evening fire in Iberia.
Hendee had been at University Hospital being treated before her death.
A press release said the original call referencing an explosion and a house fully involved with fire came at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday.
Iberia Fire immediately requested mutual aid from Brumley Fire Protection District and Crocker Fire Protection District.
Several units arrived on the scene within minutes to find a house fully involved and several smaller explosions.
When crews arrived, Arthur Sinden had made it out of the residence with multiple burns. Fire crews had also received reports that another person (Hendee) was still trapped inside.
According to the press release, crews found Hendee inside the residence once the fire was under control. Hendee had perished from her injuries.
A landing zone was set up for Sinden before being flown to University Hospital in Columbia by MU helicopter service.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office was on scene and is still conducting an investigation into what started the fire.

ORIGINAL: Iberia Rural Fire Protection District is reporting one person died and one person was sent to the hospital after a house fire in the 200 block of Lombar.
Officials say firefighters responded to a call on an explosion at 5:56 and when crews arrived the house was fully involved.
Officials say two people were the only ones in the house.
One person has burn injuries and was flown by a helicopter to an area hospital.
The State Fire Marshal's office is conducting the investigation into the fire.
The home is considered a total loss.
