Tracking light showers today
TODAY: Cloudy with a chance for a few rain or snow showers north of I-70. While many areas will only see trace accumulations at most, there are some isolated areas in the north that could receive heavier snowfall. The National Weather Service out of St. Louis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Monroe County in the anticipation of these isolated heavier bands of snow. Highs in the upper 30s to low 40s.
TONIGHT: Conditions will dry out as clouds stick around. Lows fall into the upper 20s.
EXTENDED: The upper level pattern this week will be fairly flat over the Midwest, meaning temperatures will be close to normal and precipitation will be at a minimum, at least until late next weekend. Temperatures will start in the upper 30s and low 40s early this week, and eventually to near 50 degrees by Wednesday and Thursday. A weak front moves through on Friday, but little to no precipitation is expected. That front will cool us back down into the upper 30s Friday and Saturday, followed by another more potent system on Sunday. Depending on the track and timing, precipitation type could change between rain or a wintry mix.
