Hickman basketball game against Smith-Cotton canceled due to COVID-19

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Hickman boys basketball game against Smith-Cotton was canceled a few minutes before tipoff on Wednesday night.

CPS athletic director David Egan said Smith-Cotton officials received word of a positive COVID-19 test within the Tigers varsity program right before the end of the JV game. That's when the varsity game was called off.

The JV game did finish, and Smith-Cotton immediately left the gym - according to Egan.

It was Hickman's senior night, and the Kewpies still held a brief ceremony to honor their nine seniors. Hickman plans to hold another senior night later in the season.

Egan said he expects the game will be made up later this season as well.
