SUNDAY UPDATES: New daily cases decrease in Missouri

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 7:36 P.M.: The Department of Health and Senior Services reported 582 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

The number of new cases decreased from the almost 1,000 new cases reported Saturday, and the 1,489 new cases reported on Friday.

There have been 51,840 cases across the state.

The department did not report any new virus related deaths Sunday. The death toll remains at 1,253.

UPDATE 6:10 P.M.: The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 17 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.

Sunday was the largest daily drop in numbers after the department reported 61 new cases of the virus on Saturday.

The five day average decreased from 34.8 on Saturday to 32.2 on Sunday.

There are have been 1,251 cases of COVID-19 in the county.

There were 229 active cases Sunday.

UPDATE 4:31 P.M.: The Morgan County Health Center reported a new active case of COVID-19 Sunday.

The county has had 69 cases of the virus.

There are currently 18 active cases.

UPDATE 2:45 P.M.: Two new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Chariton County Sunday.

There are now two active cases of the virus in the county. There has been a total of 15 cases.

The Chariton County Health Center reported 13 people have been released from isolation.

The health center is working to contact anyone who may have come into contact with the two patients.

ORIGINAL: The Morgan County Health Center reported the first COVID-19 related death in the county on Sunday.

The health department did not release any further information about the patient.

The health center reported 17 active cases of the virus on Sunday. There have been 66 cases total in Morgan County.
