One arrested after tampering with Thomas Jefferson statue

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The University of Missouri Police Department arrested a University of Missouri graduate Sunday for tampering with the Thomas Jefferson on campus.

Police arrested Rachel A. Foster, 22, of Columbia for violating Columbia city ordinance 16-158 about tampering.

According to a press release from the University of Missouri Police Department, the incident happened Sunday morning.

Foster is a 2020 graduate of MU. She was arrested and released on a summons for one count of tampering which is a class A misdemeanor.
