SATURDAY UPDATES: New cases of COVID-19 in Boone, Cole County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE 5:30 P.M.: Health officials reported new active cases of COVID-19 in Boone and Cole counties on Saturday.

The Columbia/Boone County Health Department reported 64 active cases of the virus, up from 59 active cases on Friday.

The total number of cases in Boone County on Saturday was 266.

The Cole County Health Department reported one new active case of the virus. There were five active cases of the virus on Saturday.

The total number of cases in Cole County was 61.

ORIGINAL: The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services reported 17,590 cases of COVID-19 Saturday.

The state number increased by 389 as the department reported 17,201 cases on Friday.

The department reported 955 deaths associated with the virus in the state on Sunday.
