JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cole County prosecutors filed multiple felony charges against a man accused of threatening another person with a gun early Saturday.

Online court records say Marcus Munzo faces a count each of attempted kidnapping, armed criminal action and stealing linked to the incident.

Police say Munzo pointed a gun at a man outside a residence in the 1100 block of East McCarty Street just after midnight Saturday. Munzo's probable cause statement said he told the man he needed to talk to him.

The victim told police Munzo lives in the apartment next to his, according to the statement.

Police say a second person told them Munzo stole her handgun from her car. Officers arrested Munzo as he hid in a wooded area after the first victim called them again, saying someone was banging on his door, police said. The stolen handgun was nearby, police said.

Munzo is being held without bond. He was arraigned Monday.
