One officer treated for minor injuries after shots fired at Sedalia police

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person is in custody after they barricaded themselves inside a residence with children while armed.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A, there were four children inside the home with the armed person.

Sedalia police tried to enter the residence when the person fired several round at officers. One officer was treated for minor injuries.

The department requested the help of the Missouri State Highway Patrol SWAT team.

The children inside the home were not injured.
