COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The city of Columbia is asking residents to avoid attending city council meetings during COVID-19.

People can still submit comments online to the city clerk's office by 4 p.m. Written comments will be given to the city council and will be filed with agenda items.

City council members may attend the meeting through a video conference.

City leaders say the pre-council meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., will be live-streamed on the city's website.
