Jontay Porter signs with Memphis
MEMPHIS, T.N. (KMIZ)
Former Mizzou and Father Tolton star Jontay Porter signed with Memphis on Sunday night, according to the Grizzlies social media account.
Porter did not get drafted in 2019, and he's been a free agent ever since.
Porter has had two ACL surgeries in the last year and a half. He originally tore his ACL in a scrimmage leading up to MU's 2018-19 season. Porter said he re-injured his knee a few months later.
"Porter continues to make great progress in his rehab and is projected to return in advance of next season," The Grizzlies said in a statement.
Per Memphis policy, Porter's contract terms were not disclosed.
Porter averaged 10 points and seven rebounds per game as a freshman at Mizzou. He appeared in all 33 games for the Tigers in his first season at MU.
