COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

University of Missouri police arrested a Kansas City man investigating an incident at a campus dorm.

Officers were called to a residence hall in the 1000 block of Rollins Street around 8:45 p.m. Friday for reports of a disturbance, MUPD said in a statement.

After investigating, police arrested John McLiney, 19, of Kansas City, on charges of second-degree domestic assault.

McLiney was booked into the Boone County Jail on a $4,500 bond following the arrest, MUPD said.

"Domestic assault offenses are treated with the greatest seriousness on the MU campus," the department said in a statement.

The MU Directory did not return any results for the name "John McLiney," and the Boone County Jail did not list any inmates by the same name Saturday afternoon.
