COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning after a shooting in north Columbia, said Columbia Police Department spokesman Jeff Pitts.

An officer with Columbia police said the victim is not cooperating with police nor hospital officials. The victim has been released from surgery.

According to the officer, authorities used a drone to assist in searching the area for two male subjects. They are also bringing a high-tech camera to the scene to get clearer images.

CPD officers responded to the 2700 block of Paris Road on Tuesday at about 11:45 a.m. They searched the We B Smokin store off of Paris Road along with a white car in the parking lot.

An officer said the white car was reported stolen after the shooting.

Video from the scene is available in the player below.

Police were searching the area for the suspect in the shooting, Pitts said.

Police cleared the scene just before 4 p.m. Tuesday.
