Commerce Bank says accounts issue is resolved

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Commerce Bank said Friday evening that a problem affecting customers' account balances was resolved.

The bank said on its Facebook page at about 1 p.m. that an "unexpected system issue" came up Thursday night. "This issue impacted customers’ deposit account current balances and we apologize for any inconvenience," the bank wrote in the Facebook post.

Commerce Bank's Chief Marketing Officer Susan Bergen said all mobile and online banking systems were fully operational shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.

An update around 5 p.m. said the bank was returning to normal operations, however, online and mobile banking platforms might continue to experience intermittent outages or delays.

The bank says it began working to fix the problem Friday morning and account information "should be updated in the next few hours."

Customers are being told to call 1-877-278-1744.

ABC 17 News has reached out to the bank and asked what caused the system error. Check back for updates.
