Excessive heat sticks around through Friday
TONIGHT: Mostly clear to partly cloudy, lows in the low 70s.
WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy, highs in the low 90s. Heat index in the upper 90s.
EXTENDED: Oppressive heat continues this week until Friday with an upper level ridge holding strong over the Midwest. A deep trough of low pressure approaches by the end of the week, bringing cooler air and a chance of showers and storms increasing Saturday into Sunday. Temperatures finally cool back to near normal Sunday into Monday with highs into the upper 70s to around 80.
