Another warm afternoon in Mid-Missouri

WEDNESDAY: More hot and humid weather for a third straight day. Temperatures will reach near 90 this afternoon with heat indices in the upper 90s . Could see an afternoon storm or two this afternoon, but expect the same coverage we’ve seen the last two days.

TONIGHT: Skies will be mostly clear heading into the overnight hours, but temperatures struggle to cool off below the low 70s .

EXTENDED: Heat hangs on through Thursday before a cold front arrives and brings a chance for showers and thunderstorms late Thursday afternoon into the evening. Some storms could bring up to 1″ of rain, plus the threat of gusty winds in northwest Missouri. Storms exit early Friday morning, leaving us cooler and less humid to end the work week. Highs Friday and Saturday remain in the low 80s , but the heat returns by Sunday into next week with highs back above average in the upper 80s .
