Power restored to majority of customers in Ashland

UPDATE 9:40 a.m.: Officials with Ameren Missouri said the outage was caused by lightning. Lightning hit a power line just before 7:30 a.m., causing a wire fire. Fire crews quickly put the fire out.

Ameren officials said all residents should have power restored at this time.

UPDATE 9:30 a.m.: Power has been restored for a majority of the customers impacted. The Ameren Outage Map now shows only 91 customers now without power.

ORIGINAL: The Ameren Outage Map shows 343 customers are without power in Ashland.

Just before 7:30 a.m., that number was at 363.

The cause of the outage is not yet clear. ABC 17 News has reached out to Ameren officials to find out the cause and when power should come back on.
