Moberly man sentenced in double killing
A Moberly man will spend four years in prison on allegations that he tried to dispose of evidence in a double murder in Moberly.
Steven Bell pleaded guilty in July to one count of tampering with evidence in a felony case and was sentenced Tuesday to four years in prison without probation, according to court records.
He was accused in the killings of Darren Tharp and Shane Hare during what investigators characterized as a drug robbery. The men’s bodies were found in a vehicle Dec. 29 in the 600 block of Concannon Street.
Bell told another suspect that he should burn his clothes and offered to help get rid of the vehicle the men’s bodies were found in, according to court documents.
Three other men — Christopher Esry, Travis Koenig and Aaron Bloss — still face charges in connection with the killings.
