Moberly man charged with child abuse
UPDATE: James R. Hardy was charged Monday with one count of child abuse and one count of third-degree domestic assault. He was jailed on a $15,000 bond.
ORIGINAL: A man could face child abuse charges in Randolph County.
James Hardy was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault and child abuse at a home off College Avenue in Moberly around 4:15 p.m. Saturday.
Police said officers found evidence of abuse against a 2-year-old boy living in the home when Randolph County Children’s Division requested help with their investigation.
According to investigators, Hardy was also wanted for failing to pay child support.
At last check, the Prosecutor’s Office hasn’t filed charges against Hardy.
