Columbia to discuss Downtown Lighting Project
The Columbia city council will be looking at appropriating approximately 30,000 dollars for a lighting in downtown Columbia.
The funds would come from the Downtown Streetlights Account, according to the council. It would involve amending the 2019 city budget.
According to the council agenda, the city is partnering with the Downtown Community Improvement District to replace the streetlights in the downtown area.
The lights would be designed to dim and brighten as scheduled. According to the council memo, it is designed for public safety.
A public hearing was held to discuss the project on April 15. The city council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday at City Hall.
