Man accused of sexually assaulting woman

Boone County prosecutors have charged a Columbia man with four felonies in connection with an alleged sexual assault.

According to court documents, Cristian Lucas, 32, assaulted the victim at a home on Trinity Place on Saturday. Police said they were notified and asked to investigate the alleged attack Thursday.

Documents said that the victim told police Lucas sexually assaulted her, slapped her three times and yelled at her with a knife in his hand.

The probable cause statement said Lucas has previous criminal convictions and is a multi-state offender. Online court records show Lucas’ bond was denied Friday.

Police said they encourage anyone who is a victim of a sexual assault to reach out. They said victims can call the National Sexual Assault Hotline number at 1-800-656-4673 or find additional resources on the Missouri Department of Public Safety’s website.
