Woman hit by car near State Capitol Complex

A woman was taken to a hospital after she was hit by a car Tuesday morning near the State Capitol Complex in Jefferson City.

Police said the car driven by Amanda Loggins, 26, of Jefferson City, struck Rhonda Richter, 60, of Freeburg, at East Capitol Avenue and Madison Street around 8 a.m.

Loggins was making a left turn to northbound Madison Street when she hit Richter, according to the Jefferson City Police Department.

Investigators said Richter was using the crosswalk and had the right of way.

Richter’s condition wasn’t released by police.
