Man arrested after standoff in Maries County
A man faces a pair charges in Maries County after a standoff Friday morning.
According to court records, deputies were called to a home near Highway V southwest of Vienna for reports of a disturbance involving a weapon. Deputies said Ralph Buschman was in his truck outside the home holding a shotgun.
Court documents said deputies asked Buschman to put down his gun, apparently he refused. Buschman allegedly unloaded three shotgun shells from the gun, then told deputies to come over to his truck. Deputies then instructed Buschman again to put down his gun and get out of the truck. After several minutes, Buschman threw his shotgun on the ground and got out of the truck, documents said. He was later arrested at the scene.
The incident reportedly stemmed from an argument between Buschman and his neighbor last Saturday. Documents said Buschman was still angry about Saturday’s encounter and went to his neighbor’s house Friday morning and pointed the shotgun at his neighbor and then backed into a Bobcat with his truck.
Buschman is accused of unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
