Police identify suspect in Jefferson City shooting

UPDATE: The Jefferson City Police Department identified the suspect in the shooting as Michael Miller, 27, of Jefferson City.

According to a news release, Miller is not in custody and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police said Miller knowingly caused serious injuries to the victim while committing an
armed robbery in the 1300 block of Monroe Street late Monday night.

ORIGINAL: Jefferson City Police are investigating a shooting that injured one man.

According to police, officers responded to the 1300 block of Monroe Street around 10: 44 p.m. Monday.

When police got to the scene they found a 25-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was getting treated for “serious injuries.”

Witnesses told police they heard a disturbance moments before hearing shots fired, then an unknown man was seen running from the area.

The suspect is still at large.
