St. Louis officer killed while investigating bad check
A North County Police officer was shot and killed Sunday night while responding to a bad check complaint.
Officer Michael Langsdorf responded to the call at Clay’s Food Market in Wellston Sunday afternoon. The area is about nine miles northwest of St. Louis.
North County Police Cooperative Chief John Buchannan said Langsdorf was shot about five minutes after arriving. FOX 2 KTVI reports a suspect attempting to cash the bad check shot Langsdorf.
Buchannan added that one suspect was taken into custody, but did not add further detail. The St. Louis Police Department is assisting with the investigation.
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson issued a statement on the shooting Sunday.
