Medical marijuana applications open Friday
The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services will begin accepting online medical marijuana applications for patients and caregivers on Friday.
Patient and caregiver registration fees are $25, and patient (in-home) cultivation registration fees are $100.
Patients and caregivers must visit medicalmarijuana.mo.gov to apply or to preview the necessary information and forms.
Patients should download the “Physician Certification form” and take it with them to their medical examinations for their physicians to fill out.
DHHS will only accept physician certifications as an attachment to a patient’s application rather than accepting the application directly from a physician.
Once patients have been certified by a physician, they will have 30 days to apply for a patient identification card online.
State-licensed physicians will be able to recommend marijuana for medical purposes to patients with serious illnesses and medical conditions. Those conditions include cancer, epilepsy, glaucoma and intractable migraines among other conditions. A full list of conditions can be found here.
Missouri is not scheduled to issue licenses for medical marijuana growers, processors, dispensaries and facilities until early 2020.
