Dry weather makes its push into the area

MONDAY: We’ll be stuck in the clouds for one last morning, but things are changing for the better into this afternoon. Sunshine will return, thanks to some breezy westerly winds drying us out, as temperatures make it into the upper 70s to some spotty low 80s possible back west.

TONIGHT: With a mostly clear night in store, we’ll see one of our cooler nights in a while, as temperatures drop into the low 60s .

EXTENDED: Winds will turn out of a more southwesterly direction heading into Tuesday. Couple that with plenty of sunshine, temperatures will warm into the upper 80s and look to stay there for the majority of the week ahead. With the heat of summer starting to settle in, can’t completely rule out isolated pop up showers, but most of the week looks to be spent drying out. The one exception to that might be Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, as some of the latest data is starting to lean toward a line of showers and storms developing overnight and moving south. Rivers will be paying the price for last weekend’s rainfall, as they rise back to major flood stage along the Missouri, so any additional rainfall will not be welcomed.
