Giving the umbrella a workout this week

MONDAY: We’ll be tracking some light showers lifting out of southwestern portions of the state this morning. It looks like these will hold together just enough to be a nuisance out the door this morning, so grab the umbrella this morning. Our better chance at seeing storms today will be closer toward midday once again. Nothing severe is expected but not impossible. One of the more robust cells may produce some gusty winds and small hail, but the main concerns will be heavy rain and lightning once again. Highs today will only make it into the upper 70s , with rain and cloud cover halting the warming process.

TONIGHT: We’ll move most of these storms out of the viewing area by this evening, as things quiet down. Temperatures tonight will bottom out in the low to mid 60s under partly cloudy skies.

EXTENDED: Beyond Monday’s storms, we look to slow things down, weather-wise through a majority of the day on Tuesday. Late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, storm chances will move back in with widespread rain chances holding into the day on Wednesday. We’ll keep the spotty rain chances around into the close of the work week, with the biggest concern being rain totals, still looking like 1-3 ” possible by this weekend.
