Storms begin Tuesday, rain chances last through the weekend

TONIGHT: A warm front is on approach this evening and that will bring a round of showers and storms for the Tuesday morning commute. Temps drop into the lower 60s.

TUESDAY: Showers and storms look to take us through the morning hours before tapering off around the lunch. We’ll have to watch into the afternoon hours for thunderstorms to refire. Some of those could bring damaging winds and hail. This will be later on in the evening hours.

EXTENDED: The rest of this week will have to be watched very closely. We’re going to see two main features that will impact our weather throughout the week–one will be a slow-moving trough from the west that will bring rain and storms late Monday through Thursday and a tropical system developing in the Gulf of Mexico. That tropical system looks like it will interact with the trough and produce heavy rainfall by Friday into next weekend. 2-3″ of rain will be possible, with localized heavy amounts if we mix in thunderstorm potentials. Take warnings from officials seriously. Flooding conditions will not be improving this week.
