Heavy rainfall to exacerbate flooding conditions later this week
TONIGHT: Skies will remain mostly clear this evening. Overnight temps will be a little cool, in the upper 50s with a light easterly breeze.
MONDAY: It looks like we’ll remain dry for most of Monday. Temperatures will be similar to Sunday in the upper 70s.
EXTENDED: This week will have to be watched very closely. We’re going to see two main features that will impact our weather throughout the week– one will be a slow-moving trough from the west that will bring rain and storms late Monday through Thursday and a tropical system developing in the Gulf of Mexico. That tropical system looks like it will interact with the trough and produce heavy rainfall by Friday into next weekend. 2-3″ of rain will be possible, with localized heavy amounts if we mix in thunderstorm potentials. Take warnings from officials seriously. Flooding conditions will not be improving this week.
