Bull captured after damaging Mexico, Mo., police car

Mexico police say a bull that escaped from a veterinary clinic Tuesday damaged a patrol car before it was captured.

Police were called to the 1600 block of East Liberty Street at 11:14 a.m. for livestock on the loose and found a bull that had escaped the nearby Audrain Veterinary Clinic, the Mexico Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post.

Officers tried to keep the bull out of traffic and the bull ran into a patrol car that was being used to help confine the animal, police said. The car sustained minor damage and staff from the clinic and the Midwest Exchange Regional Stockyards captured the bull near the 200 block of Summit Street.

It was the second incident in Mexico in a week involving a bull — a young bull fell from a livestock trailer Wednesday in the 1400 block of West Liberty. Police kept the bull from traffic and stockyard workers helped the owner capture the animal, according to a news release.

No injuries were reported in either incident.
