An active weather pattern sets up again bringing the potential for more flooding issues

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect starting this evening through Thursday morning with an active weather pattern setting up again into this week. Rainfall totals could exceed 3″-5″ within the next 7 days.

MONDAY: A few showers is possible for the Monday morning commute. You’ll want to have the umbrella out the door. This will move through quickly, between 6-11am. We look to dry out into the early afternoon, but more isolated storms are possible by afternoon and into the evening as instability increases through the afternoon. Storm coverage looks to move in from the north from 6-7 PM. The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather team has issued a Weather Alert Day. Large hail and strong winds are possible. Highs are in the mid 70s.

TONIGHT: Evening storms will lose the ingredients for severe weather tonight, but a low level jet will help set up heavy rainfall into the night especially south of I-70. With training storms, rainfall totals will bring the risk of flooding through the night. Up to 1.5″ is possible by Tuesday morning. Overnight lows dip into the low 60s.

EXTENDED: Lingering showers are possible Tuesday morning, but as the rain chances and the severe weather drops considerably into Tuesday, ongoing flooding is possible. By Wednesday a more focused area of precipitation is likely to develop where more strong to severe storms are possible by the afternoon. We are watching this system as ingredients may come together enough to issue another Weather Alert Day. More storms are possible Thursday. Luckily, into the upcoming weekend we look at more drytime in the forecast. This will be a much needed break.
