Some Boone County roads remain closed Thursday

Heavy rain and severe storms across mid-Missouri forced authorities to close several roads in Boone County Wednesday, some of which remained closed on Thursday.

According to the Boone County Office of Emergency Management, the following roads were closed in Boone County:

W Gillespie Road at Perche Creek Blackfoot Road near Perche Creek and Rocky Fork Creek Old Highway 63 Burnett School Road

Law enforcement across mid-Missouri had to rescue some people stranded in their vehicles after driving through flood waters.

Missouri State Highway Patrol tweeted road closure signs are “there to protect you. It’s extremely dangerous & violation of state law to drive around them.”
