Some Boone County roads remain closed Thursday
Heavy rain and severe storms across mid-Missouri forced authorities to close several roads in Boone County Wednesday, some of which remained closed on Thursday.
According to the Boone County Office of Emergency Management, the following roads were closed in Boone County:
W Gillespie Road at Perche Creek Blackfoot Road near Perche Creek and Rocky Fork Creek Old Highway 63 Burnett School Road
Law enforcement across mid-Missouri had to rescue some people stranded in their vehicles after driving through flood waters.
Columbia firefighters assist a subject whose car stalled while attempting to drive through flood waters this morning. While this event had a positive outcome, many do not. Most flood-related deaths occur when people try to drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around Don’t Drown! pic.twitter.com/M2yQJs8beG
