Work to fix water main break in east Columbia continues
Crews responded to a water main break in east Columbia on Wednesday night.
It happened before 9 p.m. in the 300 block of south Ann Street. Columbia Water and Light crews as well as Ameren crews were still on the scene at 7:45 a.m. Thursday.
Workers spent most of the night determining the cause of the break and started work on the issue early Thursday morning.
Columbia Water and Light and the Columbia Fire Department responded to the scene.
The fire department tweeted that Ann Street is closed between Anthony Street and Broadway. Anthony street is also closed between Ann Street and Williams Street.
