Drying out this afternoon before active weather continues

MONDAY: After morning rain showers move east clouds stick around for today. Spot showers can’t be ruled out through the day as high temperatures rise into the low 70s.

TONIGHT: Another round of storms arrives for this evening and will continue overnight. Heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder and small hail are possible into the morning hours. Overnight lows drop into the upper 50s.

EXTENDED: Late Tuesday looks like the best chance for severe storms across Mid-Missouri as a line of storms will move into mid-Missouri after 7 PM. There’s a threat for large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes. Behind the cold front responsible for that, more “training” of precipitation is expected into Wednesday. One more round of rain arrives Thursday morning. When it’s all said and done most of Mid-Missouri will have gotten 2-4″ of rainfall out of the deal. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on the severe risk Tuesday. Be sure to check back on-air or online as this forecast is a fluid one this week.
