Stormy pattern begins this evening, remains active through Thursday
TONIGHT: We’re tracking a warm front lifting northward this evening. That will continue to bring showers and storms, especially along and north of I-70 thru midnight. Another round of storms arrives for the morning rush. Heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder and small hail are possible into the morning hours.
MONDAY: Morning rain showers will slowly kick out into the afternoon, but another round of rain will arrive after dark leading to more heavy rain and thunderstorms through Tuesday morning. Temperatures rise into the low 70s.
EXTENDED: Tuesday afternoon looks like the best chance for severe storms across Mid-Missouri. There’s a threat for large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado. Behind the cold front responsible for that, more “training” of precipitation is expected into Wednesday. One more round of rain arrives Thursday morning and when it’s all said and done most of Mid-Missouri will have gotten 2-4″ of rainfall out of the deal. We’ll continue to keep a close eye on the severe risk Tuesday. Be sure to check back on-air or online as this forecast is a fluid one this week.
