Foggy start leading to a soggy evening
THURSDAY: We’ve seen some dense fog develop overnight and we’ll be seeing it stick around for a good portion of the morning. That fog looks to lift closer toward midday with a cold front beginning to move in. We only make it to near 70 this afternoon before this front moves through, kicking up winds out of the northwest for a few hours along with a few showers. We’ll see these showers develop along and a little behind the front itself around 4-5 in our northwest counties before moving southeast through Mid-Missouri. This looks to create a wet evening commute, so don’t forget the umbrella out the door this morning!
TONIGHT: Those showers will exit the viewing area by 10 this evening, and clouds will be clearing out of the area overnight. Mostly clear skies along with winds out of the northwest tonight will help cool us off into the middle 40s.
EXTENDED: Friday looks beautiful, closing out the work week on a brighter note. Temperatures will make it into the low to mid 70s with plenty of sunshine to go around. This break is relatively short-lived, with rain chances moving back in by Saturday morning in the form of yet another frontal passage. We get our second in as many days late on Sunday, but there should be ample dry time in between these two weekend rain chances to get outside with temperatures cooling into the upper 60s for highs Sunday. Next week stays active with showers and thunderstorms in the forecast almost daily. Check back with ABC 17 News on-air and online for the latest forecast updates.
