Police: Woman breaks up fight by shooting gun

The Jefferson City Police Department took a woman into custody Tuesday night after she allegedly broke up a fight by shooting off a gun.

Dixie Deluca tried to break up the fight between multiple juveniles, including one of her children, at around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Clark Avenue.

When officers arrived, the juveniles fled the scene. After investigating, officers found several juveniles on the Lincoln University campus during the investigation.

The Lincoln University Police Department and the Cole County Sheriff’s Office have been assisting JCPD in the investigation. JCPD officers said no juveniles or their parents have been cooperative in the investigation.
