Nearly one pound of meth found in Audrain drug bust

One person was arrested on Tuesday after deputies found nearly a pound of methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Deputies tried to pull over Joey A. Thorpe, 37, of Vandalia, Missouri, before 5 p.m. Tuesday after he allegedly pulled out in front of another vehicle, almost causing a crash.

Thorpe did not consent to a vehicle search at the time, so deputies deployed a K-9 unit, which alerted them to drugs in the vehicle. Deputies then searched the car and found the meth and cash.

Thorpe was arrested on suspicion of first-degree trafficking drugs and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner. Thorpe was taken to the Audrain County Jail.
