Clouds to stick around into Thursday, clearing out to close out the week
THIS AFTERNOON: Cloudy and damp afternoon across much of Mid-Missouri. A batch of precipitation is lifting north out of Arkansas leading to showers along and southeast of HWY 54. We’re not expected any heavy rainfall with these, but it will certainly add to the overall gloom we’ve experienced so far today. Temperatures will struggle to rise into the mid 60s this afternoon with clouds hanging tough.
TONIGHT: With plenty of low-level moisture and light winds, another round of thick fog will develop into tomorrow morning. Lows fall into the low to mid 50s tonight.
EXTENDED: Another chance of rain, especially near I-44 is possible Thursday. We’ll begin to see partial breaks in the heavy cloud cover, particularly in our western counties. A cold front is set to pass through the area late Thursday and that will help kick out the stationary boundary that has left us cloudy and cool the past several days. It will be very nice Friday with lots of sun and temperatures back in the 70s– unfortunately it’s quick to move out with more rain chances arriving into the weekend.
