Moberly man shoots at girlfriend in domestic dispute

A Moberly man has posted bond after he was arrested for firing a single shot at his girlfriend Saturday in the 400 block of east Rollins Street in Moberly.

According to police, Jared Satterfield allegedly fired the shot at her before the officers got there. He immediately told the officers he had a pistol in his waist band.

The investigation revealed that Satterfield’s girlfriend had been trying to get into the home they shared but he told police, he felt she “no longer had a legal right to the property” after leaving for the night.

She was not hurt by the gunshot.

Satterfield originally faced charges for domestic assault and unlawful use of a weapon. He posted bond around 7 p.m. and was released.

Authorities said he returned to the residence despite having specific bond conditions against contacting the victim. Prior to posting bond, he’d also been served with a temporary Ex Parte order with the victim.

She called 911 when he arrived back there. He now has a $45,000 bond.
